I feel honoured to serve as a deacon at Welcome. From the moment I set foot in the building, it has felt like home. It’s been a joy getting to know so many faithful individuals, and as a family we have been immensely blessed through people’s generosity, prayers and encouragement.

I have always felt it important to serve within the church family. We are placed on this earth for a purpose and for a very short time. I don’t want to waste that time. A verse that comes to mind is James 4:14: '… yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.'

I believe that when we work for Him, it has eternal consequences. To stand as a deacon provides an opportunity to serve the Welcome community, support and encourage the leadership and offer myself up to be used as required.
